In-person voting
VOTE EARLY! You never know if you might be sick or something unexpected will come up on election day.
If you are a first-time voter who registered by mail or if you are voting at a new polling location, you might need to provide identification at the polls. 

Mail-in ballots
If possible, put your ballot in one of New Jersey’s secure ballot drop boxes.
If using USPS, mail your ballot at least 10 days before election day.

Be Prepared if the SAVE America Act is passed
Every American, including people who have been registered for decades, would need to appear in person at an election office with qualifying documents.

• Document requirements –  (one of the following) a valid U.S. passport or passport card, a certified birth certificate paired with a photo ID, a naturalization certificate, or a Consular Report of Birth Abroad. People who have changed their name due to marriage, divorce, or because of any other circumstance should have available proof of their name progression such as a marriage certificate, a divorce decree, or court documents showing a legal name change.

October 27: Last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot
November 3: Election Day: Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted mail-in and civilian absentee ballots (must be received by 8:00 P.M.)
