Two Weeks Ahead: WAYS TO GET INVOLVED!
Special Events

ILNH Postcard Writing Party

Monday, Feb. 6 @ 6:30 pm

Union Coffee, 49 N Union St., Lambertville

Arts & Crafts and Activism! If you’re a resident of congressional districts NJ07 or PA01, come make and write Valentine postcards to Tom Kean Jr. or Brian Fitzpatrick to let them know what you care about (i.e. “I love when Tom holds Town Halls” and “I love Ethics”). Bring markers and crafty supplies, we’ll have some pre-made cards and blanks. Cards can be mailed to their district or Washington offices. For TKjr., there will be a rally (see below) at 4 pm Tuesday, Valentines Day in Bridgewater if you’d like to attend (must be a resident of NJ07).
Please note: You must sign your card with your name and town to show you’re a constituent.

Note: Union Coffee has a capacity of only 25 people so get there early for a seat! Lastly, Union Coffee is gracious enough to lend us their space, but the shop is closed so bring your own snacks and drinks!

Protecting Democracy in NJ: Organizing for Same-Day Voter Registration

Thursday, February 9, 6:30 – 8pm

1 N Johnston Ave, Hamilton Township, NJ 08609

The right to vote is one of the most important parts of our democracy, yet thousands of people are shut out from participating because of barriers embedded in the voting process. This is why expanding access to the ballot by passing Same-Day Voter Registration is so critical to protecting our democracy. Join us for our in-person 2023 activist kickoff session to learn how you can help urge lawmakers to pass Same-Day Voter Registration (A1966/S247). Food and drinks will be provided. Join us and have your voice heard!

We’re honored to have activist Larry Hamm speaking, as well as hosting this event with the League of Women Voters, New Jersey Institute of Social Justice, National Association for Social Workers–NJ, Council on American-Islamic Relations–NJ, NJ Alliance for Immigrant Justice, Action Together NJ, Indivisible Cranbury, NJ Black Empowerment Coalition, Palestinian American Community Center, Central Jersey Progressive Coalition, Unitarian Universalist Faith Action, Social Justice Matters, NJ 11th for Change, NJ Working Families, Faith in NJ, Indivisible Lambertville New Hope, and Our Revolution New Jersey.
